Lauretta Wenonah Ryckman, 91, of Lebanon, Oregon passed away Monday, September 26.

After 91 years of adventure and love, Lauretta W. Ryckman’s soul departed on September 26, 2017 at 7:55 a.m. Lauretta was born to George and Laura Chapman in Eugene, Oregon on February 22, 1926.

Lauretta moved to Sweet Home to raise her family on a small farm. She also lived for a time on the Oregon Coast with the love of her life, Jack, before returning to the Willamette Valley.

She loved to garden, bake, cook, read, write, knit, and crochet. In everything she did, Lauretta served her beloved family.

Her memory remains cherished by her surviving family: sons Paul Gilliland, Gary Gilliland, and Patrick Gilliland, and her daughter, Geneva Campitelli (Ryckman). Lauretta also leaves behind 20 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.

Her brothers, Sidney Chapman and twins Donald and Ronald Chapman, daughter Judith James, son Donald Gilliland, and her husband, John “Jack” Ryckman, welcomed her spirit.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 29, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Lebanon, Oregon.
