Kathryn Inez Gifford, 81, formerly resided in Sweet Home, Oregon passed away November 26, 2023 in Fremont, California. She was born September 6, 1942 to Thomas and Mildred (Tracy) Young.

She was born and raised in Antioch, California. She moved to Albany, Oregon in 1978, then Sweet Home, Oregon in 1982. In 2010, she moved back to Fremont, California.

Kathryn worked in the news and communication services at Oregon State University. She was a member of the New Life in Christ Fellowship (Mennonite Church) in Sweet Home, Oregon. She enjoyed reading, watching movies and quilting. Since moving to Fremont she enjoyed game nights, dinner parties and traveling with her friends from the Besaro Mobile Home Park in California.

She is survived by her children: Shari Ortiz of Antioch, California, Michael Torrez of Copperopolis, California, Traci Pimentel (Craig) of Fremont, California. Grandchildren: Angela, Adrienne, Brittany, John Michael, Michael Anthony, Marissa. Great Grandchildren: Amaya, Kyra, Torion, Tavion, Sarina, Zoe, Zendaya. Preceded in death by: husband Earl Gifford (2000), brother Thomas Young (2020), sister-in-law Lyn Young (2016), son-in-law Gabriel Ortiz (2020).

Viewing will be 11am – noon Friday December 8th at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. Graveside service will be 1pm Friday December 8th at Gilliland Cemetery.
