Kathern Landtroop
February 4, 1927 – July 26, 2024

It is with great sadness that the family of Kathern Landtroop announce her passing on July 26, 2024 at the age of 97 at home peacefully with her family by her side.

She was born February 4, 1927, in Tupelo, Oklahoma to William and Myrtle (Gossage) Kimbler. The Kimblers were sharecroppers and moved around Oklahoma and Arkansas in Kathern’s younger life. She married Willie (Bill) Landtroop on June 3, 1947 in Oklahoma and moved to California in 1949. They then moved to Sweet Home with their five children in 1964. In 1971 they went to Alaska and worked for Tyler Bro. Logging/Whitestone Logging until Bill retired in 1982 and came back to their home in Sweet Home.

Kathern belonged to the Sweet Home Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, and enjoyed sharing the word of Jehovah. She loved quilting and painting. Her children and grandchildren are now enjoying the fruit of her labors of love.

She is survived by her children Harvey (Brenda) Landtroop of Silverton, Jim (Lori) Landtroop of Albany, Karin (Tim) Glade of Sweet Home, Boyd Landtroop of Sweet Home, Jackie (Roger) Housing of Lebanon; sister Willie Robertson of Calera, Oklahoma; 11 grandchildren and several great and great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Bill (2006); parents Bill and Myrtle Kimbler; brother David Kimbler; sisters; Cleo Sweeten, Ruth Gossage and Cindy Gossage.
