Joyce Irene Baugus, 61, of Sweet Home, Oregon passed away Sunday. She was born in Sweet Home to James and Dorothy (Dickinson) Miner.

She lived in Sweet Home her whole life. She was the middle child of 15 children. Family was an important part of her life. She loved family gatherings and spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Joyce taught fourth grade at Hawthorne Elementary, from the 1990s until she retired in 2012. She continued on as a substitute teacher.

She loved to travel, snorkel, go on cruises, parasail, ride roller coasters, and drive her convertible. She just enjoyed life. She attended the Cornerstone Fellowship since it was founded.

Joyce is survived by: her husband of 42 years, John Baugus of Sweet Home; son, Jonathan Baugus of Sweet Home; daughter, Lisa Bone of Sweet Home; eleven brothers; two sisters; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Dorothy MIner, and brother, James M. Miner, Jr.

Funeral services are planned for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Sweet Home Evangelical Church. Final burial will be at Gilliland Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sweet Home Funeral Chapel.
