John “JP” Lee Pierce, 68, of Albany, Oregon passed away Monday, July 20. He was born in Cottage Grove to Elvin Lynn and Lorene (Pruitt) Pierce.

JP lived in Cottage Grove until he was four, moving then to Gold Beach where he spent his youth. He graduated from Gold Beach Union High School in 1965. He moved to Albany in the late 60s to begin attending college.

He worked at The Children’s Farm Home for 19-1/2 years, and then owned JP’s Bar & Grill in downtown Albany for 18 years.

JP loved fly fishing, pool, football, and riding his motorcycle.

He is survived by: his wife, Nadine Pierce, of Albany; twin brother Al Pierce of Albany; sisters Mary Gordon of Palm Springs, CA and Marie Little (husband Ralph) of Sutherlin, OR.

JP was preceded in death by: his father, Elvin (1968); mother Lorene (1977); sister Margaret Curry (2006); and previous wife Janie.

A Celebration of Life (potluck style, no drinks included) will be held from 7:00 to10:00 PM on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at JP’s Bar & Grill in Albany.

Memorial contributions can be made in JP’s name to Evergreen Hospice of Albany.
