John Edward Tuchardt, 89, of Lebanon passed away Monday. He was born in Portland to Ed Long and Margaret Tuchardt.

He attended Oakridge High school. He served in the United States Navy from 1952 until 1956 when he was Honorably discharged. He was a Boatswain Mate and served during the Korean War.

John married Mayzell L. Thomas in Reno, Nevada on February 14, 1957. They were married for 63 years.

He worked at a moving and storage business.

John was a member of Fir Lawn Lutheran Church in Sweet Home.

He enjoyed square dancing, camping, fishing and hunting.

John is survived by his son Chuck Tuchardt of Lebanon; daughter Debra Smith of Salem; sisters: Elaine Long and Susan Long both of Portland; brothers: Carl Long of Foster, Dennis Long of Lowell, Fred Long of Idaho.
