John Douglas Ramshur, 68, of Sweet Home passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2013. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri to John William, Jr., and Lurdean (Mayberry) Ramshur. His family later moved to California.

In 1965, John married Linda Wilson. He worked 26 years as a truck driver at UPS and Conway Freight and, together, John and Linda raised their four children before retiring to Oregon in 2002.

John loved fishing, camping, target shooting, and spending time with his grandchildren. In 2011, John and Linda moved inland from Florence to Sweet Home.

John is survived by: his wife, Linda; children, Steven Ramshur of Tucson, Arizona, Bradley Ramshur of Brownsville, Stacy McCabe of Florence, Jennifer Brewster of Eugene; grandchildren, Mallory, Gregory, Dakota, Wyatt, and Quinn.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 8, 2013 at Community Chapel on Ames Creek. Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 8, 2013 at Gilliland Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sweet Home Funeral Chapel.
