John Albert Lawrence Abenroth, 97, of Sweet Home passed away Wednesday. He was born in Plentywood, Montana, the fourth of eight children born to George and Hilda (Greco) Abenroth.

Albert spent over six years at the Willamette Manor and enjoyed the excellent care; the attentive and compassionate staff helped make his later days comfortable and pleasant. Albert was recently hospitalized and then moved to the Lebanon Rehabilitation Center. He passed away peacefully on February 13 at 12:45 a.m. He was ready to go Home. His gentle, peaceful spirit, his wit and humor, will be remembered by many.

Albert is survived by: two daughters, Arlene (Miles) Henke of Ethridge, MT and Lois Pierce of Lebanon, OR; grandchildren, Julia and Amanda Pierce of Lebanon, OR and Luke and Jonathan Henke of Ethridge, MT; and three sisters and two brothers who live out of state.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; his brother, Carl; his sister, Mary; and his loving wife, Nita.

A viewing will be held 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 15, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 16, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. Final burial will be at Gilliland Cemetery.
