Joanne Martin, 62, of Sweet Home, Oregon passed away Thursday, October 11, 2018 after a four-year battle with cancer.

Joanne was born in Portland on September 20, 1956 to Norman and Mary (Chandler) Hovet. She lived her entire life in Oregon.

Joanne graduated from Centennial High School in 1974, then went to San Jose Bible College for a year. She later attended Oregon College of Education. She finally went back to school to get her nursing degree from Linn Benton Community College in 1992. Joanne worked primarily as a home health nurse until her retirement in 2016. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and crocheting, being involved in her church community, and spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren.

Joanne is survived by her husband of 39 years, Dave, and her four children: Allison, Andrea, Elizabeth, and Adrienne, and her three grandchildren, Jack, Nathan, and Charlie. She is remembered fondly by her mother, Mary Jo, and siblings, Catherine, Barbara, Jon, and twin sister Dianne. She was preceded in death by a stillborn son, Collin Patrick, in 1984, and her father, Norman, in 2008.
