Memorial service will be 11:00 am Saturday April 30th at Holley Church in Sweet Home. Burial will take place in Fairview, Montana.
JoAnn Clara (Norquay) Main, 85, of Sweet Home passed away Wednesday. She was born at home in Victor, Montana to Joseph Albert and Clara Willanna (Mongan) Norquay.
She was two years old when her dad drowned in West Fork Lake, MT. There were four children by then. When her brother was six years old he put his eye out. She and her brother started school together. Her mom remarried Mike Bader and they moved to Corvallis, Montana. She attended school there until 5th grade when they moved to Grants Dale, Montana where she graduated 8th grade. She attended Hamilton High School from 9-11th grade. She moved to Kalispell, Montana and finished High School there.
JoAnn met her husband and they were married on June 5th 1955 at Hamilton, Montana Christian Church. They lived in Kalispell, Montana where two daughters were born: Cynthia and Sandra. They eventually moved to Oregon where Earl and JoAnn adopted a son John and had another baby girl Lezly. The family then moved to Coulee Dam, Washington. After years of moving around with Earl’s work they settled in Missoula, Montana.
After retirement she and her husband traveled for many years and made many good friends. They moved to Oregon in 2002. They had always been Christian. She knew and loved the Lord Jesus with all her heart, mind and soul. God is good all the time. She loved her family and looks forward to seeing them in Heaven.
JoAnn is survived by her husband of 67 years Earl Main; children: Cynthia Louise and her husband Ron Farrell, John Kenneth Main, Lezly and her husband Paul Clayton; grandchildren: Jennifer Breeze, Bucky Smith, Dominic Weldele, Isabelle Garcia, Morgan and Reagan Clayton; step grandchildren: Michael Farrell, Melissa Halseth; six great grandchildren: Aiden Breeze, Paityn Makuch, Braxton and Brayden Smith, Alyvia Weldele, Zorian Garcia.
She was preceded in death by daughter Sandra Jo Main; father and mother Joseph Norquay and Clara W. Norquay-Bader-Palin; sisters: Betty Burchell, Shirley Ann Norquay; brothers: Mike Bader, Wendell Norquay; granddaughter Amanda Smith.
