Jerry Dean Smith, 61, of Lebanon, Oregon passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2014. He was born in Spencer, Iowa to Robert E. and Elsie M. (Patten) Smith.

Jerry and his family came to Oregon for work when he was nine years old. He attended Gresham School. He served in the United States Navy. After leaving the Navy, he moved to Lebanon and worked at Champion Mill. He worked a number of jobs after Champion closed, until becoming a truck diver in 2000.

Jerry attended Church of God 7th Day in Junction City.

He was a worker and loved spoiling his family.

Jerry is survived by: his wife, Sandra Smith of Lebanon; children, Amy Hamilton of Nebraska, Jerry Dean Smith II of Gresham, Kimberly Smith of Arkansas, Carrie Storms of Lincoln City, Steven Epperson of Lebanon, Reta Holder of Coos Bay, Jay Epperson of Dallas; mother, Elsie Smith of Gresham; sister, Karen Hutchinson of Baker City; and 25 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Smith.

Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 1, 2014 at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel.

Final burial will be at Gilliland Cemetery.
