Janette H. McCollum, 95, of Sweet Home, Oregon passed away Saturday, November 7. She was born in Spirit Lake, Idaho to Lewis Andrew and Kathryn Janette (Schinzel) Herbert.

While growing up, she lived in Spirit Lake and Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and then Cannon Beach, Oregon where she graduated from Seaside High School. She married Eugene Raymond McCollum in Raymond, Washington. They moved to Harrisburg, Oregon and worked on the Rip Rap River. In 1939, they moved to Upper Soda to work on the Highway 20 project. They moved to Sweet Home in 1940.

Janette was a domestic worker and developed film. She loved gardening, sewing, quilting, and fishing.

Janette is survived by: sons Jim (Betty) McCollum of Lacomb and Jerry (Bonnie) McCollum of Sweet Home; sister Margie Lillich of Sweet Home; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and four great, great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Eugene Raymond McCollum; son Pat McCollum; brother Harold Herbert; and parents Louis and Kathryn Herbert.

Open viewing will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. Family will have private services.
