James Walker, Jr., 81, of Sweet Home passed away Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Evergreen Hospice House in Albany, Oregon.

Jim graduated from high school in Selma, California in 1950. He served in the US Navy from 1950 to 1954. He then attended college in Reedley, California. Jim married Sandra Kaye Talbot on December 13, 1957. They have two daughters, Lori and Jill. The family lived in Kingsburg, California and moved to Sweet Home in February 1970.

Jim worked for the City of Sweet Home before he retired. He enjoyed camping, going to the casinos, and working in the yard. His life-long passion was golf.

Jim is survived by: his wife, Sandie of Sweet Home; daughters, Lori Walker and Jill Walker, both of Sweet Home; sisters, Bev Collins of California and Betty Stanton of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Kristina Gilbert of Bremerton, Washington, Janelle Delibertis and spouse Joshua of Sweet Home, Nicole Gaspard of Heppner, Josh Walker of Springfield and Ricky Burnside of Sweet Home; nine great grandsons and one great granddaughter.

At Jim’s request, there will be no service.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sweet Home Funeral Chapel.
