James Michael Middleton of Sweet Home passed away Tuesday at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center. He was born in Huntington, Indiana to Herbert Franklin and Helen (Dearinger) Middleton.

James grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana and lived most of his later years in Washington and Oregon. He resided in Oregon for the last ten years.

James worked as a lumber inspector for 25 years. He was affiliated with the First Church of the Nazarene. James loved to play pool and go camping and fishing.

He is survived by: his beloved wife of 39 years, Susan; daughter, Julie Peterson of Springfield; siblings, Janice Myers, Phillip Middleton, and Rex Middleton (all of Fort Wayne, Indiana), Darcy Rossolot of California, Dennis Middleton of Texas, and Mark Middleton of Bloomington, Indiana; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Sammy and Carolyn Propps of Sweet Home; and granddaughters, Alicia, Sammantha, and Alexandra Peterson of Springfield.

A viewing will be held from 10:30 a.m., to 1:30 p.m., Friday, September 30, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 1:30 pm.
