James K. Bean, age 68, of Sweet Home passed away Sunday, March 21, 2010. He was born in Idaho to Arthur and Elva Bean.

James served in the Marines during the Vietnam conflict. He worked as a police officer in Law Enforcement for the State of Oregon. Following his career in law enforcement, he worked as a security officer in many places. Most recently, Jim was proud employee at Weyerhauser. He also served on the Sweet Home City Council for 18 years.

James was a loving husband to his wife of 44 years. He was a proud father to his son and loved being a grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed fishing and visiting the coast.

He is survived by: his wife, Hiromi (Miyashiki) Bean; son, James K. (and Tammy) Bean of Carson City, NV; grandchildren, Jasmine Bean, Brittany York, and Jordan Bean; great grandchildren, Josie Bean and Lilly York; and sisters, Barbara, Fern, Beverly, and Sharon, all living in the Portland area.

There will be a viewing and gathering for friends and family to share memories from 10:00 am to noon on Saturday, March 27, at the the Sweet Home Evangelical Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sweet Home Funeral Chapel.
