James “JC” Calvin McFarland, 95, of Sweet Home, Oregon passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2019. He was born in Valliant, Oklahoma to Steve and Lizzie (Cain) McFarland.

He lived in Wright City, Oklahoma until 1948, when he moved to Sweet Home.

JC worked and retired from Willamette Sawmill in Sweet Home. He was a member of Harvest Christian Church. JC was a people person. If a stranger crossed his path, he would introduce himself.

He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and hunting.

JC is survived by his sons, Terry McFarland and his wife, Sonya, and Marty McFarland; and granddaughter, Fallon Ferguson.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorene, in 2014; grandson, Cody McFarland, in 2002; his parents; and siblings.

Viewing will be at noon on Thursday, September 5, at Harvest Christian Church. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Final burial will be at Gilliland Cemetery.
