James Dale Malloy

James Malloy, 80, of Sweet Home, Oregon passed away Wednesday, May 18. “Big Jim” or “Daddy-O,” as he was called by those who knew and loved him, was born in Piedmont, Missouri to Thomas George and Ruth Violet (Mahaney) Malloy. He was one of 11 children in the Malloy home. He lived in Missouri, Washington, California, and Kingman, Arizona; finally settling in Sweet Home 25 years ago.
Jim enjoyed fishing and reading Westerns. He was a great singer. Big Jim had a big heart. He helped anyone in need and loved to cook for people.
He is survived by his sister, Hazel Hilker, of Arnold, Missouri; his brother, Bill Malloy, of McMinnville; his “son,” Dwight, of Sweet Home; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Jim is preceded in death by his brothers, Clyde, Claude, Tom, Bob, and Paul Malloy, and his sisters, Lucille Henson, Kathleen McGuire, and Wanda Estes.
A celebration of life will be at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, June 11, at the Sweet Home VFW.
