Jacob Ryan Dahlenburg, born on May 20, 1983, in Lebanon, Oregon, left this world on June 20, 2024, in Corvallis, Oregon. He was the beloved son of Bennie and Christine Dahlenburg.

Jacob’s life was a testament to his vibrant spirit and compassionate nature. Growing up, he was surrounded by the love of his parents and his brothers, Joshua and Jeremy. His dedication to his family was unwavering, and he cherished the bond they shared.

In high school, he was a member of the wrestling team, soccer team, and track team where he excelled as a pole vaulter. He graduated from Sweet Home High School in 2001. Jacob pursued higher education at Linn Benton Community College and Oregon State University. He earned his Masters of Education from Western Governors University.
In his professional life, Jacob made a mark as a commercial driver. His favorite vehicle to drive was a concrete truck.

Beyond his career, Jacob found joy in a range of hobbies and interests. From camping to target shooting to riding ATVs, he embraced the outdoors with a sense of adventure. His love for exploration led him to descend the Grand Canyon on the bright angel trail in 1993, a cherished memory shared with his grandparents Wayne and Opal (Oma).

As an Eagle Scout, he embodied the values of leadership and service. His involvement with the Sweet Home Kiwanis chapter highlighted his commitment to giving back, as he actively participated in multiple fundraising events.

Those who knew Jacob understood his kind and generous nature. He was always ready to lend a helping hand and never hesitated to support a friend in need. His trademark beanie accompanied him everywhere, a reminder of his unique spirit and individuality.

Family meant everything to Jacob, and he is survived by his loving parents, Bennie and Christine Dahlenburg; his brothers Jeremy Dahlenburg and Joshua (Stephanie) Dahlenburg; nephews Bryce and Levi Dahlenburg; grandmother Opal Dahlenburg, uncle Steve (Danielle) Hanscam, cousin Kyle Hanscam; aunt Suzanne (Thomas) Ashinger, aunt Christine Wolf. Jacob’s presence will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Jacob was preceded in death by his grandfather’s Mervin Hanscam and Wayne Dahlenburg; grandmothers Leona Dahlenburg, Dorothy Hanscam and cousin Kasey Hanscam. Jacob will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his legacy of kindness and compassion continue to inspire those who follow in his footsteps. Rest in peace, Jake.
