Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 13, at Sweet Home Evangelical Church. Final burial will be at Gilliland Cemetery in Sweet Home.
Jacob Robert Greenaway, 96, of Sweet Home, Oregon passed away Monday in Sweet Home. He was born in Pinewood, Ontario, Canada May 22, 1919 to Henry and Helen (Kampnar) Greenaway.
Jacob made his choice to serve the Lord when he was 18 in meetings that were held by Clarence Arquette and Arthur Munson, in the state of Wisconsin.
He served in the United States Army from 1942 to 1945 as a medic in the 41st Infantry (armored).
Jacob married Ila King November 28, 1945, in Oregon City, Oregon. He worked as a heavy duty mechanic for Caterpillar Tractor and the City of Spokane, Washington. From the early 1950s to 1988, Jake and Ila lived in Spokane. In 1989, they moved to Sweet Home. He finished his days there.
He is survived by: his wife, Ila, of Sweet Home; son, Larry, of Sweet Home; and sister, Katie Browning, of Vancouver, Washington.
