Jack Gerald Herring, 92, of Sweet Home passed away Thursday. He was born in Alma, Arkansas to Floyd Lemuel and Amy Elizabeth (Huff) Herring.

He lived in lake Arrowhead, California before moving to Oregon. He attended the University of Pacific in Stockton, California, studying Mechanical Engineering.

Jack worked for White’s Electronics years ago. He was involved in the Baptist Church in Lacomb.

He enjoyed playing his guitar, taking walks in the woods and dancing. He was known as Cap’n Jack for his love of boating.

Jack is survived by his wife Alfreda of Sweet Home; five children: Roger of Michigan, Rocky of Bend, Jackie, Terry both of Las Vegas, Nevada, Diane of Lebanon; 13 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren.
