Iris Mae Hemphill, 85, of Sweet Home, Oregon passed away Saturday. She was born in Mitchell, South Dakota to Stanley Edward and Martha Grace (Harper) Tapp.

She lived in Brownsville, Seattle, the Oregon Coast, and Goldendale, Washington. She spent the last 50 years in Sweet Home.

Iris worked for White’s Electronics and retired from Hewlett-Packard in Corvallis.

She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, cooking, baking, and sewing. She loved her family. They were her number-one priority.

Iris is survived by her daughter, Tony, and her husband, Paul Tenbusch, of Sweet Home; brother Earl Tapp of Halsey; grandchildren Amanda Thompson, Brian Tenbusch, and Chad Tenbusch; and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Edwin Hemphill; brother, Verle Tapp; and her parents.

Funeral Service will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 4, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel.

Memorial contributions can be made in Iris’s name to Sweet Home Elks Lodge.
