Iris Elaine Grimmett, age 79, of Sweet Home passed away Sunday. She was born in Kansas City, Missouri to Horace Lyle and Gertrude E. (Dunkin) Van Wormer.

She lived in Liverpool, New York from 1950-1955; Palos Verdes and Gardena, California from 1955-1981; and then moved to Sweet Home in 1981.

Iris met Charles Grimmett at the University of Kansas. They married in Topeka, Kansas on January 24, 1950.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Alden Grimmett; children, Lawrence Grimmett of Murrieta, California and Julie Grimmett of Sweet Home; sister, Sylvia Norman of Carlsbad, New Mexico; two grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made to the National Parkinson Foundation in care of Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. 1443 Long Street, Sweet Home, Oregon 97386. A private graveside will be held at Gilliland Cemetery. Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements.
