Irene Slaughter, 82, of Lebanon, Oregon died Sunday, March 24, 2019. She was born in Hassloch, Germany to Johann and Katherine (Hess) Thomas.

She married Samuel Slaughter in 1956 when he was in the Air Force. They came to the USA in June 1957 and lived in the Sweet Home area.

Irene was a beautician and ran Country Hair Palace out of her home. She enjoyed bowling, cooking, and swimming. She lived to dance. She and Samuel had a very simple life.

Irene is survived by her husband, Samuel Slaughter, of Lebanon; children Kinnon Slaughter and his wife, Karen, of Sweet Home and Linda Pitts and her partner, Vern Nelson, of Sweet Home; grandson that Irene and Sam helped raise, Jason and his wife, Jehnna Pitts, of Gaston; great grandchildren Maddi and Frahnie; and sister Lore of Baltimore.

She was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings.

Viewing will be at noon on Friday, April 5, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Final burial will be at Gilliland Cemetery.
