Greg L. Brown, age 34, of Sweet Home, passed away Thursday at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis. He was born in Sault St. Marie, Michigan to Leland and Nancy Caldwell. His step mother is Emmie (Oldham) Caldwell.
Greg grew up in Porterville, California and Sweet Home, Oregon. As an adult he lived in Crescent City, California, and then moved back to Sweet Home in 2005 where he married Sonya Leann (McKendree) Brown.
He worked as a residential caregiver at the Alpha House in Sweet Home. Greg attended Bible college in Crescent City for five years and was a member of the New Hope Pentecostal Church of God in Sweet Home.
He enjoyed playing and fishing with his young son, Daniel, and they had great fun playing video games with his brothers and Daniel’s uncles.
Greg is survived by his wife, Sonya Brown; mother, Nancy Caldwell of Michigan; step-mother, Emmie Caldwell; mother-in-law, Donna McKendree of Sweet Home; children, Leanna McKendree of Lake Elsinore, California, Maritschka McKendree of Albany, Darline McKendree Cox, Zackery McKendree, and Johnny Bean Cox of Fontana, California, Tommy McKendree of Realto, California, and Daniel Brown of Sweet Home; grandchildren, Raymond McKendree and Brianah Gastelum of Lake Elsinore, California and Azelea Elizabeth of Albany; brothers, Leland Caldwell, Jr., and Even Caldwell of Sweet Home and James Caldwell of Lebanon; brothers-in-law, Joey Fairhurst of Riverside, California and Jeremy Osborn of Lebanon; sisters, Melissa Travis of Lubbock, Texas, Rachel Caldwell of Lebanon, and Samantha, Tanika, and Seairra Caldwell of Sweet Home; sisters-in-law, Christy Benton of Gilroy, California, Vicky Sheer of Texas, Aurian Ferguson of Fontana, California, and Meghan Shirley of Lebanon; and 20 nieces and nephews.
Greg is preceded in death by his father, Leland Caldwell.
