Gordon Dale Whipple, 70, of Lebanon, Oregon passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2016. He was born in Junction City to Ed and Mildred (Blevens) Whipple.
He lived in the Junction City, Sweet Home, and Lebanon areas mostly, but also in California, Arizona, and Washington. He survived the 1964 flood in Humbolt County, California, which led to him enlisting in the army. Gordon served in United States Army during the Vietnam war.
Gordon married Susanne Ramsden in Washington on November 20, 1976.
He was a horse trainer for Show Horses. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, restoring old cars, and rebuilding lawn mower engines. Gordon was a Jack of all trades and tinkerer.
Gordon is survived by his children, Philip Larson (Nancy) of Brownsville, Colleen Brown of Salem, Jeff Larson (Janelle) of Maple Valley, Washington, Shawna Whipple (Dorcas) of Seattle, Washington, Eddie Whipple (Melissa) of Wasilla, Alaska; siblings Larry, Jeannie, Albert, Jim, and Kenny; and multitudes of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Susanne Whipple, in 2004; daughter Laura Powers in 2012; and siblings Loretta and Ronnie.
