A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 6, at the Corvallis Seventh-Day Adventist Church at 3160 SW Western Blvd, Corvallis, OR 97333. A celebration of Gloria’s life will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 14, at Community Chapel in Sweet Home. Memorial contributions can be made in Gloria’s name to Community Chapel to help with family expenses.
Gloria Joya, 15, of Sweet Home, Oregon passed away Thursday, April 28. She was born in Corvallis and raised in Sweet Home by her grandparents, Terry and Renae Hoover, whom she called Mom and Dad.
Gloria loved animals and playing with her sister, Alina. She enjoyed music and choir, art and drawing, the family Oregon Jamboree yard party each year, getting together with her family, spending time with her friends, and motorcycle rides with Grandpa Terry.
She is survived by her mom and dad, Magan McDermott and Jerry Joya; grandparents, Renae and Terry Hoover; sister, Alina Joya; brothers, Kruz and Mikey Palomo; aunt and uncle, Jamie and Kevin Westfall; cousins, Trent, Jo, and Payt; great grandparents, Vern and Morine Garett, Grandpa Mike and Lori (Mike McDermott and Lori Parker), and Louis and Hank Stukey; grandparents, Felipe and Olivia Joya; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and her biological parents, Magan McDermott and Jerry Joya.
