Gilbert Guzman, Sr., 65, of Sweet Home, Oregon passed away Saturday, July 13, 2013. He was born in Los Angeles, California to Severo and Esther (Alcala) Guzman.

Gilbert moved to Sweet Home in 1980. He attended the St. Helen’s Catholic Church.

Gilbert volunteered at SHEM. He loved working on cars, going to garage sales, finding things broken and fixing them up, taking long drives in the country, and just smelling the roses.

Gilbert is survived by: his daughters, Teresa Blaylock and Bernadette Montes; son, Gilbert Guzman, Jr.; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Victor Guzman.

The public is welcome to a Memorial Mass at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 24, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church; 39043 Jordan Road; Scio, Oregon.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sweet Home Funeral Chapel.
