Georgia Smith, 91, of Albany, Oregon passed away Sunday, April 3. She was born in Mount Ayr, Iowa to Simon Ray and Lyda (Moffett) Mosier.

She moved from Iowa to Oregon in 1946 and lived in Albany for 60 years.

She owned the “Good Neighbor Greeters” business, welcoming new babies and new residents to Albany.

Georgia and her husband were members of Albany First Baptist Willamette Community Church where she taught children for over 50 years. She was also a member of “The Good News Singers” women’s quartet, touring and singing in many churches and for special events.

She enjoyed sewing and floral designing, and was an oil and watercolor artist.

Georgia is survived by her sons, Ivan Smith and wife Judy of Meridian, Idaho and David Smith and wife Susan of Salem; her daughter, Diane (Smith) Benson and husband Gary of Vancouver, Washington; seven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and two great, great grandchildren.

Georgia was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Herbert “Bert” Smith (2008); her parents; three brothers; and four sisters.

Memorial services will be at 3:30 p.m., Sunday, April 24, at the Albany Willamette Community Church.
