George Beemer, 67, of Sweet Home, Oregon passed away Monday, February 1, 2016. He was born in Lebanon to Sidney Darel and Violet Harriett (Gallea) Beemer.

He served in the Navy from 1967 to 1968 and lived many places throughout Oregon including Winson, Valsetz, Portland, Tangent, Albany, Cascadia, Sodaville, and, finally, Sweet Home.

George worked as a logger, a special instrument tech for White’s Electronics, and laid asphalt for a time, but his favorite job for 21 years was as a heavy equipment operator for Morse Brothers.

Since 1996, George and his wife attended River of Life Fellowship. He loved sitting in the back watching over everyone and participating in offering.

George loved to hunt, fish, do woodworking, and garden.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Cathy A. Beemer, of Sweet Home; sons William A. Beemer of Sweet Home and Andrew G. Beemer of Lebanon; daughter Salina A. Beemer of Albany; brother Ed Beemer of Umatilla; and sisters Cyd Dee Beemer and Rita Sommers of Sweet Home.

A Celebration of Life will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 12, at River of Life Fellowship, 1658 Long Street, Sweet Home.
