Gaylene McLellan, 60, of Sweet Home, passed away Wednesday. She was born in Anaheim, California to John Charles McLellan and Charlene L. (Aaron) Wittman.
She came to Oregon from California as a young child. She lived in Sweet Home, moved to Albany, then back to Sweet Home to be close to her daughter and family.
Gaylene worked at various mills throughout her life. In the 1980’s she worked for Pleasant Valley Plywood in Sweet Home, Champion Mill in Lebanon, and Stone Forest in Albany. She ended her work career in 2010 at Oregon Freeze Dry in Albany.
She was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 2019. She loved God, the Church, and everyone affiliated with the church.
Gaylene loved her family more than words. She was very proud of her granddaughters. She loved visits with her twin sister, nephew, niece and great niece. She loved swimming, camping and just being outdoors. She loved her cats very much, and always insisted on feeding all the strays.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Misty and Jason Duncan; granddaughters: Madison and Ashley Duncan all of Sweet Home; twin sister and brother-in-law Jaylene and Kerry Heilman of Tangent; brothers: Eric McLellan of Albany, Charley Wittman, Corey Wittman both of Pennsylvania; sister Linda McLellan of Portland; numerous nephews and nieces that were near and dear to her heart.
Gaylene was preceded in death by her father John Charles McLellan; mother Charlene Wittman; brother Chris Wittman; sister Cheryl Nelson; step-mother Sandra Nipp; step-mother Nettie McLellan; nephew Casey Schwindt.
