Floyd Eugene Chase, 88, of Sweet Home, Oregon passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2016. He was born in Springview, Nebraska to Clem and Myrtle (Clark) Chase.

He served in the United States Army from 1946 to 1947. He received the World War II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal Japan.

Floyd worked in lumbers mills and around rock crushers with heavy equipment. He retired in 1995.

He enjoyed hunting and camping with his family.

Floyd married Carolyn Nadine Chase, and they later divorced. He married Judith Kunkle on March 31, 1962.

Floyd is survived by children Carolyn and her husband Tom Berry of Keizer, Dale (Pete) Chase of Salem, Gail McAdams of Dallas, Floyd Jr. and his wife Joy Chase of Lebanon, Steve and his wife Sherry Chase of Lebanon, Jill Lacy of Keizer; sister Elsie and her husband Gil Tipton of Alaska; grandchildren Leslie Knight, Josh Chase, Jennifer Fery, Anna Figueroa, Lorraine McAnally, Barbara McAdams, Charlene Bostian, Larissa Chase, Crystal Taylor, Sierra Rice, Michelle Chase, Racheal Chase; and eight great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son Gary Chase; brothers Ronald, Bernard, and Willard Chase.

Viewing will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 30, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial with military honors will be at Gilliland Cemetery .
