Ella Mae Youngblood (Rogers)

Ella Mae Youngblood, age 87, of Albany, formally of Sweet Home, died Monday at Samaritan Albany General Hospital. She was born on Christmas Day in Morrilton, Arkansas to Tom and Callie (Grady) Rogers. She lived in Morrilton until she married Jesse D. Youngblood on July 18, 1935. They then moved to the west coast.
Ella Mae and her husband lived in Sweet Home for 52 years. Ella Mae spent her days as a homemaker. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, and painting. She was a member of the Art Society for over 20 years. She really enjoyed teaching her grandchildren how to draw, paint, and sew. She inspired many people to be creative.
Ella Mae is survived by her children, James Youngblood (wife, Darlene) of Eugene, Virginia Lovitt (husband, Ken) of Lynnwood, Washington, and Ella Mavin Baker (husband, Delbert) of Brownsville; 12 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and four great, great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years in 2004; her first born son, Willis Youngblood, who passed away at four years of age; and her parents.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, July 16th, at Lewis Cemetery.
