Eileen Zoe Beller, 92, of Sweet Home, Oregon walked home with our Mother Mary into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, July 18, 2017.
Eileen was born on August 11, 1924 to Nina Rose and Goldwin Pearl Wilson in Portland, Oregon. Eileen was raised in Sherwood and Oregon City, Oregon. She graduated from Oregon City High School. After graduation, Eileen worked at Ireland’s Restaurant in Portland as a waitress. There, she met Denys Beller. They were engaged on April 20, 1946 and were married at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Portland, Oregon on August 3, 1946. They moved to Rockaway, Oregon and made their home there.
Eileen was a full-time homemaker and involved in her children’s school and community activities. Denys was in the logging industry, and then served the county as a Fullerbrush Salesman for more than 30 years. In 1974, Denys and Eileen sold their beach property and moved to Bay City, Oregon. On Denys’s retirement, Eileen and Denys moved into their Pace Arrow motorhome full time. They enjoyed many years being “snowbirds.” Sweet Home, Oregon was their home base.
Eileen enjoyed crocheting afghans for family members along with other crocheting projects. She also enjoyed reading, camping, picnics on Nehalem Bay, writing to friends and relatives, and writing in her journal. Eileen very much enjoyed visiting with friends and relatives. Some of her fondest memories were walks on the beach with her mother while her children played.
Eileen was a member of the Tillicum Chapter of Good Sams and was a joyous and faith-filled member of the Catholic Church. It was Eileen’s yearly routine to live in her motorhome on her three daughters’ properties, visiting with her son at any opportunity that would allow.
Eileen loved all God’s creatures, especially dogs. She had always wanted to own a German Shepard, but just couldn’t find room in her motorhome!
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Hamilton, and Susan’s husband, Bill Hamilton, of Nampa, Idaho; daughter Janet Beller presently of Las Vegas, Nevada; daughter Kathryn Ives of Sweet Home, Oregon; and son Ronald Beller and wife Pamela Beller of Albany, Oregon. Eileen is also survived by eight grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren whom she thoroughly loved. Eileen is preceded in death by her husband, Denys J. Beller; her son, Donald Beller; her sisters, Caroline Landry, Shirley Breedlove, and Edith Lovell; and brother, James Wilson.
