Edgar Benjamin Volkers, 82, of Sweet Home, Oregon passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2020. He was born in Terre Haute, Indiana to Ernie Rea and Katherine Margaret (Ellingworth) Volkers.

He served in the United States Army from 1956 – 1959 as a Military Police. After honorably discharged from the Army he met Patricia D Ebert from DeRidder, Louisiana. They married June 27, 1959 in Terre Haute Indiana and then moved to Sweet Home Oregon.

Edgar worked at different places including US forest service planting trees, Sweet Home Police Department as a reserve officer, and retiring from Willamette Industry after 22 years.

He also owned and operated Ed’s CB sales, Video Trak, and the Frontier Lounge and Restaurant.

Edgar was a member of St Helens Catholic Church, Sweet Home Elks Lodge, Sweet Home VFW.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on electronics, going to the casinos, and working on small engines and auto engines.

Edgar is survived by his wife of 61 years Patricia Volkers of Sweet Home; children: Debe Carter of Astoria, Ed Jr of Gig Harbor, Washington, Pam Lewis of Lebanon, Ernie of Sweet Home; brothers: John Volkers of Boise, Idaho, Phil and Marv Volkers of Sweet Home; sisters: Ernestine Kelley of Orlando, Florida, Marianna Frye of San Antonio, Texas, Ruth Hoephner of Moline, Illinois; 10 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Lawrence, Jerome, Walter, and Andrew.
