Duane “Dewey” Williams passed away Saturday, December 11th, 2021 at the age of 78 in Lebanon, Oregon. Dewey was born July 31, 1943 in Prairie City to James Lee Doyle Williams Sr. and Dorothy Genevieve Hicks.

He spent his formative years in Oregon’s logging country. Later he enjoyed living in both New York and Colorado, but Oregon has always been home and he returned to the Sweet Home area in 1995. Dewey was a hardworking man and rarely sat still.   He owned several flooring businesses over his career and enjoyed teaching his trade to his son, who now owns his own tile company. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to his friends and family. Always with a smile and a joke.
 
Dewey was an avid fisherman; a constant jokester who loved to make others laugh; a lover of sci-fi and fantasy fiction and movies; and an amateur plant tender who was proud of his crops. He will be missed by many.
 
He is survived by children: JonPaule’, Rachelle, Tifani and Letha; siblings: Dixie and Diane; 8 grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Preceded by his parents James Lee Doyle Williams Sr and Dorothy Genevieve Hicks; his brother Calvin Williams, and oldest brother James Lee Doyle Williams Jr. earlier in 2021.

 A Celebration of Life camping trip in June 2022 is being planned at this time.
