Doris May Eck, 94, of Sweet Home passed away Saturday. She was born in Omaha, Nebraska to Frank J. and Clarinda (Martinson) Kretschmer.

She lived in Omaha, Nebraska and Kansas City, Kansas before moving to Sweet Home in 1994.

Doris was a homemaker and also worked several years as a tax preparer. She volunteered extensively as an ESL teacher and church volunteer. She was an active member of Kountze Memorial Church in Omaha and Fir Lawn Lutheran church in Sweet Home.

She enjoyed sewing, baking, volunteering and painting. Doris was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother who loved being around children.

Doris is survived by her daughter Carol and her husband Lynn Henson; son David and his wife Johnna Eck; six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Keith Eck; and brother Robert Kretschmer.

Memorial service will be 2:00 pm Sunday November 20th at Fir Lawn Lutheran Church in Sweet Home.
