Doris I. Rector, 94, of Sweet Home, passed away peacefully on Thursday. She was born in Queens, New York to Charles and Anna (Jacobson) Carlson.

She moved to Southern California in 1956, but has called Sweet Home her home since 1972 where she and her husband and son were able to live life away from the city. She was a Lutheran. Doris worked at Santiam Auto Supply for many years.

She is survived by three nieces: Joan and her husband Walter Cook, Lynn and her husband Remi Boudreau, and Dolores Realmuto; and their children and grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Jay Gordon Rector Sr. in 1990 and son: Jay Gordon Rector Jr. in 2007.

Memorial service will be 11am Tuesday November 29th at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers Doris requested that donations be made to Special Olympics, HSUS or ASPCA. Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements. www.sweethomefuneral.com
