Donald Barton, 52, of Hubbard passed away Friday, March 2, in Tualatin with his wife, family, pastor, and friends by his side. He was born to Lawrence and Lucilia (Burg) Barton in Springfield.
Don attended grade school and high school in Sweet Home. He played football and baseball. In baseball he made All City and All State twice. Don served his country in the US Army for three years. He married Toni Littell in 1980, together they lived in Hubbard since 1981. Don worked for Artek and Maclaren Youth Correctional Facility. He enjoyed playing softball, golfing, camping, hunting, fishing, and playing his guitar. His favorite thing to do was spend time just hanging out with loved ones and having a good time. |

He always had a smile on his face and had a great sense of humor. Anyone that knew him would tell you there is and never will be a man on earth like Don. He was the best friend a person could ask for, with the kindest eyes you’d ever look into. His smile gave you a sense of happiness and peace that is just unexplainable. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. There are no words to explain how much he will be missed.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Toni Barton of Hubbard; children, Jennifer Osborne of Grand Prairie, TX, Corey Barton of Tualatin, and Skie Barton of Woodburn; sisters, Gayla Ray, Linda Kitchin, and Debbie Horner; grandchildren, Taelor Hawkins, Myles Barton, and Jaydin Osborne; and many other family members and hundreds of dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Lou Barton. Viewing will be held Thursday, March 8, from 4:00-7:00 pm at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. Services will be Friday, March 9, 12:30 pm, at Community Chapel at Ames Creek. Sweet Home Funeral Chapel will be handling the arrangements. |
