Desirée Kate Bender, 15, of Corvallis, Oregon passed away Monday, March 10, 2014. She was born in Corvallis to Michael and Holly (Whittemoore) Bender.

Desirée lived in Lebanon and Corvallis.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved her Young Women’s group, leaders, and advisors. She also loved participating in the pioneer trek. Desirée loved animals, especially cats, and having fun with friends and family. She also really loved drawing, ceramics, and photography. She was fun-loving and a good and faithful friend to many. She will be greatly missed.

Desirée is survived by: her parents, Michael and Holly Bender of Corvallis; sisters Carrie, Krista, Hannah, Emily, Hillary, Madilyn, and Liddie; brothers Spencer, Travis, Todd, and Steven; grandparents Roy and Marilyn Whittemoore and Louise Bender. She was preceded in death by her younger brother, Benjamin.

A funeral service is planned for 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 14, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1205 NW Walnut Blvd., Corvallis. Private burial will take place at Gilliland Cemetery in Sweet Home. Donations may be made in Desirée’s name to Heartland Humane Society of Corvallis.
