David Leo Miller, 54, of Brownsville passed away Sunday at his home. He was born in Kalispell, Montana to Leo George and Evelyn Orina (Absalonson) Miller.
Before moving to Oregon, David lived in Kalispell and Shelby, Montana, and Paige, Arizona. In 1962, he moved to Cottage Grove, and two years later moved to Oakridge. In 2003, the family moved to Brownsville.
David worked in the logging industry in Alaska and Oakridge. He also worked in road construction. David worked at a lumber mill in Springfield, a paper mill in Halsey, and finally a steel mill in Albany.
He was a deacon at First Baptist Church in Oakridge and attended First Baptist Church in Brownsville. He loved backpacking, mountain climbing, sailing, and kayaking. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, bicycling, and woodworking. He loved being with his family.
David is survived by: his wife, Tammy Miller of Brownsville; sons, Matthew and Mitchell of Brownsville; mother, Evelyn of Lebanon; sister, Becky and husband Mike Montreuil of Weed, California; brother, Tom and wife Lisa Miller of Portland; aunts, Gail Miller of Kalispell, Montana, Mary, Louise and Carol Absalonson of Spokane, Washington; and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leo in 1991, and sister, Connie Wilson in 1984.
