Viewing will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 2, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1155 22nd Avenue in Sweet Home. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Gilliland Cemetery.
David K. Walker, 80, of Sweet Home passed away Friday. He was born in Lebanon, Oregon to Loyal (Jack) and Esther (Barrette) Walker.
He was the third of seven children. He graduated from Sweet Home High School, class of 1949, lettering four years in baseball. Dave served in the Army from 1951 to 1953. He met and married Elizabeth McMurdie in 1954. They have five children, 22 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.
David worked in the woods logging and was an avid hunter and fly fisherman. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He and his wife served a mission for the Church in 1995.
He is survived by: his wife, Elizabeth “Tish”; children, Pauli, Rhonda, Debbie Gay, Kim, and Gordon; sisters, Caroline and Barb; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by: his parents; sisters, Marie and Betty; brothers, Al and Roger; and two grandsons.
Viewing will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 2, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1155 22nd Avenue in Sweet Home. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Gilliland Cemetery.
