David John Tenbusch, 65, of Sweet Home passed away Thursday. He was born in Falls City, Oregon to Charley Joe and Elizabeth (Wuestuwald) Tenbusch.

David came to Sweet Home in the 1950s and attended the local schools. He joined the U.S. Navy at seventeen and retired as a Command Master Chief in 1983. David did not rest in retirement, After returning to Sweet Home, he ran an Air Conditioning and Heating business for fifteen years.

David loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He loved to work in his yard with pride. David was a life-long Oregon Duck fan and tried to convert those who were Oregon State Beaver fans.

He is survived by: his wife, Barbara Tenbusch; daughters, Jamey L. Frederick of Sweet Home and Tara Y. (and husband, David Rathbun, Jr.) of Lebanon; sisters, Bernice Webster of Portland, Faye Cowdrey of Brownsville, and Patricia Rice of Sweet Home; six grandsons; two great grandsons; and numerous nieces, nephews, and family.

David was preceded in death by: his parents; his son, Tony Tenbusch; and six siblings.

Viewing will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 29, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 30, also at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel.
