David John Miller, 69, of Sweet Home, Oregon passed away Saturday, December 27. He was born in London, England to Ian William and Dorris Elsie (Clark) Miller.

He has lived in Sebastopol and Rohnert Park, California. He lived in Mt. Shasta, California from 1992 until moving to Sweet Home in 2003.

David was a retired sergeant for the Marin County Sheriff’s Department.

He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Mt. Shasta, California and Sweet Home. He was a devoted father and a true friend; loving and compassionate.

David enjoyed travel, Abalone diving, reading, jogging, photography, wildlife art, and knife collecting. He was an “avid outdoorsman” and loved fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his girlfriend, Diana McCurdy, of Sweet Home; children, Devon, James, and Mandy of Novato, California; brothers, Alan of Vacaville, California and Doug of Somerset, California.

David was preceded in death by his mother and father.

A memorial service will take place at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 17, 2015 at the Elks Lodge.
