Darlene Mae Thompson, 77, of Sweet Home, Oregon passed away Monday, July 24. She was born in Akron, Colorado to Walter Leroy, Sr., and Helen Irene (Johnson) Ross.

Darlene came to Sweet Home in November of 1946.

Darlene worked for Hanscam and Casto CPA, Hosking Supply for 28 years and was manager for nine years. She also worked at the Skyline Inn as a Bookkeeper for 30 years.

She spent her whole life helping others. She enjoyed children, going to the coast, shopping, and drinking coffee with her friends. She loved growing flowers.

Darlene is survived by her husband, Shain Thompson; daughter Darla and her husband, Ron Carter; son Mike Thompson; grandchildren Katie and her husband, Leon Vineyard, and Mitch Carter of Sweet Home; and sister Carolyn and her husband, Guy Wheeler, of Brownsville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Leroy, Sr., and Helen Ross, and brothers John Edward Ross in 2016 and Walter Leroy Ross, Jr., in 2017.

A graveside service was held Sunday, July 30, 2017.

Memorial contributions can be made in Darlene’s name to Samaritan Evergreen Hospice.
