Daniel Lee Shipp, 59, of Sweet Home passed away Tuesday at Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis. He was born in Sweet Home to Hubert A. and Virla May (Fagan) Shipp.

Daniel attended schools and lived his entire life in Sweet Home. He worked for Waibel Logging as a choker setter. He retired early in 1984, then kept himself busy repairing cars.

His hobbies included building race cars and hot rods. Daniel enjoyed not only doing his own yard work, but his families’ as well..

He is survived by: his father and mother, Hubert and Virla Shipp; brothers, Sam Shipp and wife Karri and Ken Shipp and wife Denise of Sweet Home; sister, Sandy Wright of Albany; son, Danny; and lots of good friends and buddies left behind.

Daniel was preceded in death by his brothers, Joe Shipp (2002) and Rod Shipp (2008).

A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m., to noon Friday, June 3, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at Gilliland Cemetery.
