Dale Maddox, 55, of Lebanon, Oregon passed away Friday, May 13, at his home following a long illness. He was the born January 9, 1961 in Lakeport, California. He was the son of Carl and Margaret (Dickinson) Maddox.
Dale grew up in Penngrove, California. He spent most of his adult life in the Berkley/Bay Area. He worked as a facilities manager at UC Berkley. He retired in 2014. He then came to live at his family home in Lebanon, Oregon.
Dale enjoyed gardening, photography, and traveling. He was talented in quilting and crocheting and was an excellent cook. Dale enjoyed all of his pets, but his dogs held great importance in his life, especially his Queensland Heelers: Brit, T-Bo, and Arli. Dale loved his family and close friends. He especially enjoyed spending time with his many nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his mother, Margaret Maddox; siblings Shurleen and her husband, Dick Rickard, of Lebanon, Cheryle and her husband, Fred Tate, of Halsey, Karla Maddox of Halsey, Chris Maddox and his wife, Kelli, of Lebanon, Steven Maddox and his wife, Angela, of Lebanon; close friend Gary Roda of Berkley, California; 17 nieces and nephews; five great nieces and nephews; and numerous extended and other family members.
Dale was preceded in death by his father, Carl Maddox; brother Gilbert Maddox; niece Olivia Margaret Maddox; and both sets of grandparents.
