Claude Max Thompson, Jr., 86, of Brownsville passed away Thursday, December 12, 2024. He was born April 8, 1938 to Claude Sr. and Kathryn (Lively) Thompson in Germfask, Michigan.
He grew up in Germfask, Michigan area. He married Lucy Abram in Curtis, Michigan on July 15, 1960. He moved to Oregon with Lucy in 1963.
His main work revolved around timber, concrete and ended as a millwright at Georgia Pacific in Halsey, retiring in January 2002. They maintained a small Christmas tree farm near Brownsville and sold trees for 41 years.
Claude enjoyed fishing, hunting, hiking and liked to mushroom hunt. He took up martial arts after retirement and obtained a black belt. Claude loved life.
He is survived by is wife Lucy Thompson of Brownsville, son Chris Thompson of Halsey; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; two estranged children. He was preceded in death by granddaughter Sofie Salvador (1995); grandson Trapper Thompson (2018).
