Christine Cella Childers, 79, of Brownsville passed away Wednesday. She was born in Hector, Arkansas to Lee Roy and Mary Ann (Warren) Massey.

Christine lived in the Halsey and Brownsville area for 48 years. She worked at: Jenks Hatchery in Tangent; the Brownsville Mill; Shining Light; and AFC.

Christine enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and her family.

She is survived by: her husband, Victor Childers; children, Frances Vega of Shedd, Hennreitta Thompson of Missouri, James Tinsley of Cottage Grove, Patricia Stafford of Crawfordsville, Lonnie Thompson of Missouri, Ray Thompson of Brownsville, Debra Thompson of Sweet Home, and Kristie Tinsley of Albany; sibling, LeRoy Massey of Brownsville; 18 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

Christine was preceded in death by: her son, Ronnie Thompson; daughter, Mary Jane Martinez; and siblings, Sonney, Shirley, Vernon, and Dale.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 2, at the Brownsville Elementary School gym. Contributions may be made in her memory to Brownsville Assembly of God.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sweet Home Funeral Chapel.
