Carol Alice Andrews, 82, of Sweet Home passed away Thanksgiving morning. She was born in Jamesetown, North Dakota to Walter James and Irene Leila (Bellen) Bowden.
 
 Carol, her mother, and her three sisters traveled by railroad from Jamestown, North Dakota during the cold month of December in 1945 to Oregon where they settled in Dallas. Carol had her 7th birthday on the train trip to Oregon.
 
She met her husband Rod at the Cotton Woods Dance hall in 1959. After a brief long distance courtship they were married on October 23rd of the same year.
 
Carol was a member of the Fir Lawn Lutheran Church in Sweet Home. She loved children and ran a daycare out of her home for many years.  She loved playing with the kids as well as teaching them reading, writing and basic life skills, which included baking in her large custom kitchen.   She loved going for walks with her Grand dog and her best friend Judy.  She also enjoyed attending workout classes at Steelhead Fitness.   
 
 She was the epitome of a happy homemaker and truly loved taking care of her family and friends.  She saw the good in everyone and was always willing to lend a helping hand or a dollar to someone in need.  Her loving, kind and selfless heart will be missed by many.
 
 Carol is survived by her husband of 62 years Roderick D. Andrews; three adult children: DebraSue Northern, Roderick A. Andrews, and Linda R. Doles.  Three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two sisters: Connie Barreras of Dallas and Faye Hensley of Lebanon; sister-in-law Dolores Glover of San Diego, California; and an abundance of nieces and nephews.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents: Walter and Irene Bowden of Dallas, and sister Sharon Mock also of Dallas.
