Carl Lee McCalister, 75, of Sweet Home, Oregon passed away Monday, March 27. He was born in San Jose, California to Riley Mac and Rowina (Leonard) McCalister.
He served in the United States Army as a Marksman from 1960 to 1963. While in the Army, he was stationed in Germany and Fort Hamilton, New York.
Carl has lived in Cambell, California, Roodhouse, Illinois, and Kansas. He came to Sweet Home in 1978.
Carl was a truck driver. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, and working on cars. He even drove stock cars. He loved spending time with his kids and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Rose McCalister, of Sweet Home; sons Robby and his wife, Terri Mcgee, of Roodhouse, Illinois, Terry and his wife, Bobbie McCalister, of Sweet Home, and Mac McCalister of Sweet Home; grandsons Eric Mcgee and Dustin Mcgee of Roodhouse, Illinois; granddaughters Denae McCalister of Sweet Home and Savana McCalister of Salem; and seven great grandchildren.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Riley and Rowina, and his uncle, Willie McCalister, who raised Carl in his home.
